 Hudson’s Bay Point Blanket Workshops
With Suzan Lagrove

Every workshop includes a fascinating presentation on the history of the Hudson’s Bay Point Blanket. Material used in all workshop projects is from 100% wool Hudson’s Bay Point Blankets. Thread is supplied is as the use of needles and scissors. Sewing is done by hand in the blanket stitch.

A 36-year veteran of the Hudson's Bay Company (HBC), and as the former Regional Manager of Hudson’s Bay Heritage, Suzan Lagrove shares her passion for history, heritage and sewing with workshop participants. Suzan’s appreciation for the story of the 340 year-old Hudson’s Bay Company inspires her lectures on various topics as they relate to the development of Canada. She was honored with the YWCA Woman of Distinction nomination for Arts, Culture & Heritage in 2006.

Through Suzan’s Capote Workshops, over five hundred capotes have "come to life" throughout Western Canada. She enjoys helping individuals experience the creation of this Voyageur-style Capotes, and encourages you to "Wrap Yourself in History." Suzan also conducts workshops in the construction of coats, ponchos, mittens, and Christmas stockings, all made from the legendary Hudson’s Bay Point Blanket.
